Student Senate President Tom Fitzgerald knows that change can be overwhelming.

He spent his life surrounded by snowcapped mountains in Utah. But since moving to Santa Barbara two years ago, the beachside City College campus has been his home.

"I had gone to private school my whole life so [moving here] was like, 'Oh my gosh! These people are wearing normal clothes!'" Fitzgerald said.

Speculation in the world of psychology suggests the law banning the use of hand-held cell phones while driving, which goes into effect July 1, may do more harm than good.

The issue of "cognitive capture," or the idea that conversations on cell phones are the cause of accidents and not the actual holding of them, was reported on by the Los Angeles Times March 25.

When leaps, chases and pirouette are combined with James Bond, Chocolat, and Moulin Rouge, the result is an entertaining evening of dancers moving to tunes made famous by some of the most popular films to hit the silver screen.

May 3 marked the second night of LPC's spring dance production, and as the theater filmed, the second ever evening began of a production based upon a specific theme: Let's go to the Movies!

The first dance performance of the evening was choreographed by dance student Natalie Miramontes, and featured music by Flo Rida, Missy Elliot and Timbaland, as well as Justin Timberlake and Modonna.
